I don't own a set but have been following the issue before I buy. These examples do not show even backlighting. Aren't these photographic examples of sets WITH the clouding issue, not without?
both of those have the deffect i think. it looks like when my playstation is loading and i have a loading screen. it's not even, but my dad says that all this is nonnsense and that some poeple are never happy with anything he calls them perfectists. my dad is pretty smart so i think he is right and that people need to just chill.

I see no difference between what you say are defective versus 'pristine' XBR TVs. Are you sure you aren't seeing or imagining things?
